As a professional magician for hire, I often get asked to recommend magic sets for children's, teens and adult's gifts! So I've made a list of a few different magic sets, their rough prices, and I researched where to get them from for the best price. Although I've listed the links to the cheapest places to buy them, I haven't ordered from some of the online shops myself before, so you might prefer to buy from one which you know is reliable. (disclaimer over) The magic sets I've listed are all sets I've either bought myself, or I've seen in person and used! I've also mentioned any considerations you might want to think about: iMagic (Marvins Magic) - £23-£35 You will need to download an app on a smartphone or iPod Touch for a lot of the tricks in this set. The cheapest place to buy this set is from Costco, although you will have to be a member, or know someone who is. Or Amazon is the next cheapest, if you prefer shopping online - Metamorphtrix (Fantasma) - £35-£50 This is a good quality magic set, it features lots of classic magic tricks, and a couple of more modern new things too! It's a little more expensive though. Fantasma is Americas version of Marvin's Magic, it's not easy to find in high street shops in the uk though. The cheapest place I could find in the uk was on eBay! Children's Deluxe Magic Set (Melissa and Doug) - £20-£30 This is a good quality magic set, most of the tricks and props are made of wood, which the others aren't. But keep in mind that Melissa and Doug specialise in toys rather than magic, so the tricks might not be as amazing. The button below will take you straight to the cheapest place I've found online! 50 Greatest Light Illusions (Marvin's magic) - £24 - £50 This is another good quality magic set, if you chose to purchase this one, make sure you get the correct one! The junior one is made for smaller hands compared to the regular set! These can be bought from Hamley's, Harrods, or online. The cheapest place I've found is - 50 Greatest Card Tricks (Marvin's Magic) - £10-£25 This is a brilliant set for the price, it comes with all the special cards needed to perform the tricks. The negative only thing with this set is it is purely card tricks and nothing else. I've seen these in supermarkets before, they can also be bought from Hamley's, Harrods, and some department stores. The lowest price is online at - Any of the Marvin's magic tins (they will usually start with the number 50 in their name) will all be good quality, and will make great gifts, but there may be a crossover of tricks, if you purchase more than one of the different sets.
